For All The Latest...
A lot has changed on the tinterweb over the past few years. This website was built in late 2009 and is now struggling to keep up with the latest advances! That said, its never been a simple job to update the site and will ultimately lead to a new society website. Until that time, you can find all the latest news on our Facebook page...
MCSME Acquires Sandiway Wood
The Mid Cheshire Society of Model Engineers (MCSME) is pleased to announce that they have recently completed the purchase of the section of Kennel Wood which is known as Sandiway Wood. The land is to the east of Blakemere Craft Centre on the A556, just before the junction with the A49, if traveling west.
General improvements to this section of the wood comply with arboricultural and ecological requirements of the Cheshire West Council. The rate of progress on the track laying will depend on the availability of members to carry out these works, but with good luck and a following wind, we could have a little steam action by May!
Whilst mainly being a “Railway” based club, with (when finished) a 3.5" & 5” raised track inside a 357 Metre - 5" & 7.25" ground level track, we do have, and would welcome all prospective new members from the many other model engineering disciplines, ie, Traction and Stationary Engines, Boats, Aircraft etc. Or anyone with a particular interest, but none of that precious time to actually make an engine, can always come and help, and learn to drive the club’s engines.
The usual working day is Sunday and any help would be most welcome.
