Just a reminder that we remain open throughout the winter months. Our normal running times are from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm on Sundays; the weather has to be pretty grim for it to stop us running! In addition, to coincide with Santa’s visits to Blakemere Village, we will be open on Saturday 7 December and Saturday 14 December.
Ordinarily, during the school holidays, we would also open on the Wednesdays but, this year, they are, respectively, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, when Blakemere is shut (as it is, incidentally, on Boxing Day also). We will not, therefore, be open on the Wednesdays of this school holiday.
Christmas sees the visit of Pete Waterman’s Making Tracks model railway to Blakemere. If you missed it at Chester Cathedral during the summer, or if you just want to experience it again, this is your chance. It is at Blakemere Village from Saturday 14 December to Sunday 5 January, open daily from 10:30 am (last entry 4:30 pm). You can book it at www.makingtracks.uk.
Hi, sorry I can’t seem to find the price or where exactly in Blakemere this is.
Go to the “visiting us” page on our website – all the details are there. Cheers.
We visited Making Tracks today 31.12.24 and hadn’t realised there was a miniature railway here. Our lads wanted to see what there and we were met by two very friendly gentlemen from the Society who happened to be passing through, one of whom offered to give us a quick tour of the shed and station and tell us a bit about it. We will be back to ride the railway in 2025. Thanks so much for the unexpected tour when you were closed.
