Less than a week to go!
The first of our special events to raise money for this year’s chosen charity takes place this weekend. We will be hosting two days of operations with Scamp locomotives, with visiting locomotives alongside the three Scamps that belong to members of the Society.
On Saturday we will open to the public at 12:00 noon, with the morning being devoted to giving our visitors time to familiarise themselves with the layout at Sandiway before they are let loose to run passenger trains; we will open as usual on Sunday, again with visiting engines and Sandiway based ones.
If you are thinking about travelling from a distance, there are a couple of events nearby that you could combine with a visit to Sandiway Scampers. Next door, Blakemere Village is staging its third Military Vehicles Show; a few miles away, Anderton Boat Lift is hosting Steam At The Lift.

Remember that all proceeds from the Sandiway Scampers event will be given directly to The Christie Charity. A reminder, too, that we do not have facilities to take card or other electronic payments; we can only accept cash. Rides cost just £1 per passenger (children under the age of four travel free) and, of course, all donations above this amount will also be given to this wonderful charity so, if you can, dig deep!
