Bring your locomotive to Sandiway

2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the opening of our Sandiway site. The railway has expanded greatly during the intervening years, now consisting of two concentric loops, the larger of which is 460m in length. We have ground level tracks at 5” and 7.25” gauges, and a raised level track at 3.5” and 5” gauges. (Se the ‘Our Track’ section of our website for more details.)

On the weekend of 15 & 16 July, we are commemorating this anniversary with a two-day event, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Joshua Tree, a local charity which provides bespoke programmes of support to improve the emotional well-being and mental health of all immediate and extended family members who are affected by childhood cancers, for as long as they need it.

An invitation is extended to visiting locomotives for this event, for either day or for the whole weekend. A loading ramp and a steaming bay are available, as is a very limited amount of secure overnight storage. We will require sight of a certificate of public liability insurance (you may already have this if you are a member of a miniature railway society) and, for steam engines, a current boiler certificate.

Please submit your booking to reach us by Saturday 1 July.
